This fun sketch was inspired by my Basset Hound running through the snow. His short legs had so much fun kicking the powder around- it made me laugh every time. All the stone was cut from commissioned work, and no adhesives were used. It is held together by stel pins and gravity.

Here the running dog is pretty clear. I enjoy the challenge of sketching in three dimensions with heavy and otherwise ponderous materials. I like the irony of something so seemingly fleeting being made of something so ancient.
