This sandstone head was carved as a part of a demonstration at the 2011 Stone Carvers Guild meeting in New York at the Art Students League campus. I brought the tools my first stone carving teacher, John Odoch-Ameny of Uganda, had left me when he returned to Africa, and almost everyone at the meeting and demo had a hand in carving this wonderful head with John’s old tools.
