This original design is an adaptation of the classic Louis style; it is a fun challenge to update a classic look to fit a current situation. I will have to get back to the home near Cleveland some day and get good finish shots.
I combined a bay wreath with a clam shell in this design; it all works well together, but it is unique to this home.
Photographed right after the mortar was done, the joints here look much darker than they do when dry. It’s amazing what a difference the mortar makes.
This shot reveals how closely the various trades work together in the completion of a high-end home. The painter, the drywaller, the carpenter, the plumber, the mason, and the stone guy all have to coordinate tightly to get the right result.
