These are sculptures inspired by my daughters when they were little. I’ve always like doing sculptures of kids. They have not a history, but a future. It’s an entirely different way of looking at stone as a medium.

My daughter Amber at five. Boy, she was a cute kid. I remember based on this pose so much that even photos don’t really convey.

Amber was always paying attention. Still that way.

I’ve done lots of kid sculptures over the years. One of my favorite subjects.

Brittany was quite the dancer and gymnast as a young one. Lots of medals and trips up the award platform.

Not even distracted by the needy cat. I’ve always believed pose more expressive of personality than facial portrayal.

A big chunk of this sculpture was carved at a landscape exhibition in a conference center in Cincinnati. It was carve, answer questions, carve, answer the same questions, carve, answer the same questions. I was not a fan. Sold a couple pieces though. Mt. Adam’s Bar and Grill. Blind Lemon. Been There? Johnny Cash was there.
