Here is a solidly creative and contemporary use of stone and bronze. The mass and weight of the stone is on par with the light character of the room. Large windows in the room face a large pool and patio accessed by double French doors.

I was there in the Spring of 2013, and they had had a television installed. Although I don’t watch TV, here it works. I know the family is a very close one, and I am glad they hang together and watch the fire and a movie together.

The bronze hearth looks great with a fire in the fireplace. The curved mantle, matched by the hearth, adds just the right amount of hand work to the stone to blend with the hand-wrought bronze.
