Doing intensely repetitive work, such as these beads, is actually thrilling as a stone carver, rather than monotonous. It takes such intense concentration and care to not blow it… it’s more like skateboarding a major hill than watching the grass grow.

I do hope my joy in designing, making, and installing my work comes through. I hope each of my pieces is a blessing for the commissioner.

And yes, it is satisfying to do this kind of work. Very much so.
