This portrait of St. Brigid is one of many projects I have carved for this church.
Over the front door of the chapel is St. Brigid, surrounded by oak branches and leaves, a bible, and her scepter.
It’s been a while, so I may be mistaken, but think I did eight of these Celtic knot rosettes for the church.
I remember enjoying making sure each one was different. And delicate.
St. Brigid is thepatron saint of all kinds of things. I incorporated them all into the design, which wasn’t easy to do. It will be there for a hundred years or more, one would think.
The rope is an element I forgot to mention above. And the flame. High relief. LOTS of work.
