Pastel on Canvas Over Wood

I have been painting with pstels my entire adult life, and have developed a ground of canvas over wood gessoed with 180 grit aluminum oxide mixed in with a black gesso. I am after a mix of spaces, the real and the surreal. And I am after preserving the touch of the hand of the artist through the very physical act of drawing.
