Old World Stone Carving

This grotesque is based on the Columbus Blue Jackets hockey team's mascot. He features stainless steel skate blades and an ominous stick. Stinger hangs out near the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio, and would have been one of eight, had the architect had his way, but copywrite fears spread their ugly wings and this Stinger has ended up the lone guardian. I was looking forward to doing a diving Stinger, and a flippant Stinger, and maybe a flying Stinger- who knows where it could have gone- but committees are committees. Enough said. Except that the newspaper article about it all included the request I had made for more ideas, and the mail from the readers I received relating to the same yielded some very interesting ideas. Like I said, too bad the eight weren't done. Maybe in your town...?
