Baptismal Font
Dakota Mahogany Granite, Brazilian Rosewood, Polished Bronze
4'-8" x 3'-6" x 3'-6"
For this font, a very special shape and size were needed. Since we wanted the natural shape, Dale traveled to the quarry to pick the particular block we would use. It had to be comfortable during a baptism and the amount of water had to be just right. There's a lot more to a successful piece than just well-thought-out symbolism! And planning the entire orientation of the church and it's stained glass windows to cast a wonder of colored light on the piece every day was a very cool touch that Old World had nothing to do with. Good job architect!
