"Passage"
Mirror-polished Stainless Steel, Indiana Limestone, Polished Bronze

Commissioned for the lobby of an architect's office, "Passage" plays with the way we view the architectural accomplishments of the past. The polished Stainless is very thin so the reflections shift as the viewer's footsteps shake the floor. The double barrel vault completed in the right angle of the mirror "doors" seems to suspend the bronze ring in midair. The limestone swags and arched egg-and-dart motif make reference to classicism and seem far too heavy for the mass of the stainless.
