Calf Skin over Plaster and Steel
Armature, Gold Thread
7'-5" x 20"
This piece was made for Dale's senior show while an art student. Invited by guest curator, Bill Warmus, to participate in a group show at the American Crafts Museum in New York (six young artists and six established artists on the theme of "to drink"), Dale chose to comment on the idolatry of the late 1980's art scene in New York. This golden calf is of a different luster. As luck would have it, the show's funder pulled out literally the day the truck arrived to ship the piece to New York and the show was canceled.
