Unfortunately, commissions of this complexity are rare; a piece of this scale is extraordinary to encounter in real life. It features Spring blowing oak leaves across the crown, a grapevine motif on the header, and birds hiding behind more oak leaves in the lunettes. The channeling on this piece is deeply undercut producing the dark shadows around the firebox.
