This small fireplace was designed around an existing faux fireplace opening during the remodeling of an old home. The master bedroom was warmed considerably by making the unit functional and giving it this rather delicate surround. The design for the carving above the legs was taken from a very impressive old bedspread that had belonged to the client's mother.
