This large surround with it's braided firebox element and Greek Key motif on the mantle really makes an impact on the room. Formal without seeming fussy, it brings a sense of history to new construction. A fireplace such as this is usually the most decorative part of the actual architecture of a room and as such needs to be well thought out to maintain itself as styles come and go. This one, we think, will be fine anytime.
